Considered one of Central Alberta's hidden gems, the town of Innisfail is located 30 minutes south of the city of Red Deer. Conveniently placed along Highway 2A, Innisfail is close to major attractions and popular recreational activity spots. The town is home to over 8,000 residents living in over 3,000 homes. Innisfail homes include detached houses, condos and apartment buildings, and semi-detached homes such as townhouses and duplexes.

Innisfail’s ecomony is thriving as more commercial shops are added to its business directory every year. Its short distance to Red Deer also gives Innisfail homeowners access to big city services and shopping centres. The area is serviced by both the public and Catholic school boards, and is close to several Central Alberta post-secondary institutions, including both Red Deer College and Olds College.

Community events are hosted year-round and range from trade shows to film circuit movies. The Innisfail Tourism Region also hosts ongoing monthly events such as Sunday Brunches and Pancake Breakfasts. Ever year in June, the Innisfail Professional Rodeo draws contestants and spectators from around the Province.

Innisfail is known for its peaceful scenery and mature poplar trees. Residents can view the majestic Rocky Mountains with every sunset and bask in the natural beauty of Alberta’s aspen parkland. Numerous neighbourhood parks, campgrounds and playgrounds can be found within Innisfail including the spacious and picturesque Centennial Park. Nature-lovers and outdoor enthusiasts can walk, bike or run through Innisfail’s Destiny Trail System, a 20 kilometre trail network that stretches throughout the town with paths leading to local lakes. Nestled within the town are three lakes: Hazelwood Lake, a picturesque lake enjoyed by golfers and skiers; Napoleon Lake, an area reserved for nature and wildlife to flourish; and Dodds Lake, where Innisfail residents can swim and boat. In addition to the outdoor adventures, Innisfail is home to an Aquatic Centre, featuring a 25 metre swimming pool, an outdoor spray park, as well as fitness programs for all ages.
